Governor Makinde resumes his duties after his annual leave

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State resumed his duties after three weeks of annual leave with a promise to work until the last minute in power to serve the people of the state despite the political nature of the democratic system before the 2023 elections.

He said this while addressing senior government officials and political aides who came to greet him at the Agodi, Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan.

While extolling the virtues of the MP, Chief Bayo Lawal who has presided over the affairs of the state as Acting Governor for the past three weeks, Governor Makinde said no vacuum has been felt during his absence.

He said the way the Deputy Governor has handled the affairs of the state has demonstrated that the current administration of Oyo State is led by a strong team, backed up by strong men.

Governor Seyi Makinde also appreciated the entire people of the state for their commitment, responsibility and loyalty to his government even when he was absent.

Earlier, the Deputy Governor, Chief Bayo Lawal, noted that the responsibilities for managing the affairs of the state are enormous.

He appreciated the governor for the trust placed in him and the people of the state for their cooperation.

Special prayers were offered for the governor and the state as a whole by the chairmen of the Pilgrim Welfare Boards (Muslim and Christian wings), Professor Sayed Malik and Bishop Ademola Morakinyo.
