Navy Gymnastics is back in action after the mid-season break
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – After three weeks away from the competition floor, the Navy gymnastics team will begin the second half of its 2022 program with a road meet on Saturday at William & Mary. In their penultimate regular season competition, the Mids (5-0) will face the Tribe (2-6) at Kaplan Arena in Williamsburg starting at 2 p.m. Last in action Feb. 20 against Springfield College, Navy will look to show off the hard work they’ve put into the gym during their long hiatus as the Mids aim to improve their national ranking to eighth as the playoffs playoffs are just two weeks away. Saturday’s Navy-William & Mary encounter will be streamed live on the Virtius platform with live stats accompanying the broadcast.

Navy put in a strong all-around performance from start to finish Saturday in an ECAC game against William and Mary. In their first head-to-head encounter of the 2022 season and a precursor to next week’s Army-Navy Star Meet, the Mids dominated the tribe and outclassed the visitors in all six disciplines en route to winning a 390.25 to 354.60 win at Halsey. Individually, Navy gymnasts won a total of five different events with Isaiah Drake finishing first on pommel horse and parallel bars, while Josh Williams was the best finisher on the rings. Connor Van Loo and Cash Buske rounded out Navy’s top students on vault and high bar, respectively.
As a team, Navy scored 64.1 points on floor exercise, 63.95 on pommel horse, 66.35 on rings, 70.75 on vault, 65.1 on parallel bars and 60.0 on horizontal bar.

Competing in their sixth meeting in as many weeks, the Navy gymnastics team unveiled a variety of new rosters against Springfield College Pride Sunday afternoon in Springfield. With the depth of their roster on full display, the Mids were given a clutch performance by its high bar range on the final rotation to overcome a 3.1 point deficit and defeat Pride by a final score of 385, 3 to 381.9.
Navy had four individual event winners on Sunday’s meet at Blake Arena led by the senior duo of Dan Clark and Dhiren Lutchman pommel horse and parallel bars respectively. Additional winners for the Mids were freshmen Vishal Mandava on the rings and Syam Burada Gunta on the fixed bar.
As a team, Navy scored 61.65 on floor exercise, 64.05 on pommel horse, 63.05 on rings, 69.3 on vault, 62.35 on parallel bars and 64.9 on horizontal bar.
